Interview with NASA Astronaut John Grunsfeld

By Nicolette Orlemans -- March 14, 2010

It all started on April 12, 1961.  Yuri Gagarin became the first man in space and the first man to orbit Earth.  Eight years later, Americans Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin performed the first ever moon walk.  Armstrong uttered the famous words, "that's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."  But exploring space isn't something that can be easily grasped by those of us who've never been.  I interviewed retired astronaut, John Grunsfeld, about his last mission aboard Shuttle Atlantis in May 2009, to get some answers about the mysteries of space.

This interview originally aired March 14, 2010 on WERS.
