By WERS News staff -- July 21, 2010 Republican Party candidate Charlie Baker was CEO of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care before running for governor. Baker is running as a social liberal and a fiscal conservative. He lives in Swampscott with his wife, Lauren. They have three children: Charlie, AJ and Caroline.
By WERS News staff -- July 21, 2010 Independent candidate Tim Cahill currently serves as State Treasurer. Cahill was elected State Treasurer and Receiver General in 2002 and re-elected in 2006. In 2009, he changed his party affiliation from Democrat to Independent and defines himself as a fiscal conservative. Cahill has a wife, Tina, and four daughters, Makena, Nicole, Devin and Kendra.
By WERS News staff -- July 21, 2010 Democrat candidate Deval Patrick is the current governor. He served under the Clinton administration in 1994 as Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights, the nation's top civil rights post. He was elected governor in November 2006.

She ran for governor in 2002, for State Representative in 2004 and for Secretary of State in 2006. She lives in Lexington with her husband, Richard Rohrer. She has two sons, Ben and Noah.

At the 2010 Gubernatorial Forum on Energy and the Environment, the candidates outlined how each would balance the need for jobs and economic growth and development with concern for the environment.
